LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight Guide: How to Unlock Every Vehicle
Your ultimate garage manual for unlocking all 33 rides, from the classic '89 Batmobile to the absurd Batmobeast.

Quick Answer: If you want to cruise in style, you need to track down all 33 vehicles scattered throughout LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight by hoarding Studs, crushing AR Trials, and popping open WayneTech Caches.
How Your Garage Actually Works
Before you start aimlessly gliding around the map looking for car spawners, you need to understand how the vehicle system functions. You do not have to walk to a physical location to call your ride. Pull up your Characters menu, highlight the hero you are currently controlling, and hit the swap button (Triangle on PlayStation, Y on Xbox). This instantly brings up your entire unlocked garage. You can even customize your paint job right from this menu by pressing Square or X, assuming you have tracked down the necessary Red Bricks.
Getting access to these rides takes a little elbow grease. You unlock the Batcave Garage and your primary computer terminal after finishing Chapter 1. From there, it is a massive scavenger hunt. While you can buy a lot of cars straight up with Studs, the rarest vehicles require you to complete side hustles. You will be tracking down Lost Zoo Animals, clearing Waylon Jones Cases, and finding hidden WayneTech Caches to finish your collection.

The Weird, The Wild, and The Classics
The developers dug deep into 86 years of comic book history to pull this roster together. You are bound to find a favorite to stick with, but some of these rides deserve a special shoutout just for how absurd they are.
Bruce’s Billion Dollar Toys
Batman obviously gets the lion’s share of the vehicles. My personal go-to is the 1989 Batmobile. Cruising through Gotham in that sleek gothic machine just feels right. If you want a bit more vintage flair, you can buy the 1966 Lincoln Futura.
Players who love causing absolute chaos have plenty of tank options. You can drive the Tumbler from the Nolanverse, the bulky bruiser from Batman v Superman, or the Arkham Knight tank. But the undisputed king of ridiculous vehicles is the Batmobeast. Included in the Deluxe Edition, this monstrosity is literally an evil, sentient version of Batman who shoved his mind into a monster truck.
The Sidekick Fleet
The Bat-Family gets a mix of cool upgrades and genuinely hilarious vintage rides.
- Robin: He starts with his classic 1966 Teen Titans motorcycle. If you have the studs, buy the Redbird from the infamous Batman & Robin movie. Avoid sneaking around in the Robinmobile, as it features a massive “R” plastered on the hood that screams for attention.
- Nightwing: He has arguably the best glow-up. He starts with his modern 2022 motorcycle and upgrades to a gorgeous 1998 sports car called the Nightbird. Just do not bother with his Wingcycle. You unlock it after a brutal 25 AR Trials, and the sidecar makes it look exactly like Donald Duck.
- Batgirl: She gets Yvonne Craig’s legendary motorcycle from the 1966 show, complete with the iconic frills. Her other rides, a basic scooter and a purple van, are pulled straight from the DC Super Hero Girls web series.
Cops, Cats, and Assassins
The rest of the roster fills out nicely with some highly specific thematic rides.
- Catwoman: She rocks a sleek motorcycle from the recent 2022 film, but her four-wheeled options are completely unhinged. You can grab a 1940s Catmobile that has a giant cat face slapped on the grill. For pure comedy, buy the Kitty Car. It is a lime green convertible from the 60s that basically looks like a giant pickle on wheels.
- Gordon: The GCPD garage is about as basic as it gets. You get a standard cruiser, a police bike, and a SWAT van that looks ripped from The Dark Knight. They get the job done, but do not expect any flashy gadgets.
- Talia: The League of Shadows rolls in heavy. She starts with a custom motorcycle featuring a shuriken decal. If you grind out enough caches, you can unlock a slick white sports car from the Robin comics, alongside her own unpainted, camouflage Tumbler from The Dark Knight Rises.
