Dead by Daylight Guide: Jason Voorhees Powers, Perks, and Best Builds
Master the Camp Crystal Lake slasher's powers, unlock his unique teachable perks, and dominate the trial with our ultimate killer loadouts.

Quick Answer: Jason “The Slasher” is a high-mobility stealth killer who uses his Omnipresent Evil power to turn invisible and jump scare survivors by teleporting directly to loops. Master his tracking mechanics and ranged throwing spikes, and pair them with pallet-punishing perks like Rampage to completely dominate the trial.
After ten long years of legal purgatory, the undisputed king of Camp Crystal Lake is finally hunting in the fog. Behaviour Interactive totally nailed his cinematic vibe, making Jason Voorhees an absolute menace who excels at breaking loops and terrifying survivors.
On paper, his stats look completely normal. He rocks a standard 4.4 meters per second walking speed and a basic 32-meter terror radius. But the moment you trigger his power, those baseline numbers get thrown right out the window. His entire gameplay loop is built around psychological pressure, spatial manipulation, and catching squads completely off guard.
The Slasher’s Toolkit: Powers and Projectiles
Jason plays a very different game from the rest of the killer roster. His kit is a multi-layered hybrid that blends map-wide stealth with loop denial and heavy projectiles.
Omnipresent Evil and Jump Scares
When you activate his primary power, Omnipresent Evil, you drop off the grid completely. Jason turns invisible, gains the Undetectable status, and his movement speed explodes to a massive 7.24 meters per second.
The main catch is that you become completely blind to survivor character models and standard scratch marks while rushing around. Instead, you have to track them like a hunter. Stationary survivors generate dynamic mist clouds, while anyone moving leaves behind glowing footprints.
While you are navigating the map unseen, looking at a pallet, window, or breakable wall lets you launch a Jump Scare. You instantly teleport to the object, automatically break or vault it, and burst out of stealth directly in front of your prey. This move completely blocks the loop, hits you with a sudden Haste speed buff, and triggers Killer Instinct while making anyone nearby scream. It destroys their momentum and forces them out into dead zones.
The Impaling Throwing Spikes
Jason also comes packed with a brutal ranged attack. You can harvest Throwing Spikes from hooks or junk piles scattered around the map. If you run out of ammo, they regenerate automatically on hooks every 15 seconds or instantly replenish when you hook a survivor.
Hitting a healthy survivor with a spike knocks them backward, injures them, and leaves them Impaled. An Impaled survivor cannot heal past the injured state, and the spike glows bright red on your screen until they stop to physically pull it out. If you manage to shoot an injured survivor and knock them directly into a flat wall, they get completely Immobilized and pinned to the environment.
Jason’s Unique Teachable Perks
Jason brings three brand-new teachable perks into the bloodweb. His loadout heavily punishes survivors who rely on pallet drops. By the way, before you blow through millions of points unlocking these on other killers, definitely read our guide on how to claim and maximize your 10 million free Bloodpoints to optimize your spending.
| Perk Name | How It Works |
| Hex: Scared to Death | Hooking three different survivors ignites a Dull Totem. While this hex is active, breaking a pallet during a chase forces nearby survivors to scream and slaps them with a 13% Hindered speed penalty for three seconds. |
| Rampage | Smashing a pallet or breakable wall with a basic attack gives you a token, stacking up to 13. Getting blinded or stunned by a pallet consumes your tokens to give you a 1% Haste boost per token for 13 seconds. |
| Silent Shadow | Every time you hook someone, you become completely Undetectable for 13 seconds. Once the exit gates are powered, this stealth buff becomes permanent. |

My Favorite Slasher Builds
Instead of guessing which perks synergize with his kit, I put together two highly effective loadouts designed to exploit his unique mechanics.
The Relentless Ambush Build
This setup focuses entirely on turning pallet loops into death traps and keeping your movement speed cranked up. You actively want them to drop pallets so you can shatter them.
- Rampage: Converts every pallet stun or flashlight blind into a massive speed buff.
- Spirit Fury: Automatically destroys the next pallet dropped on your head after you manually break two.
- Furtive Chase: Hooking the Obsession grants 10% Haste and Undetectable for 18 seconds, constantly shifting the obsession to the rescuer.
- Sloppy Butcher: Applies Mangled and Hemorrhage to your basic attacks, draining their healing progress if they cancel the animation.
- Required Add-Ons: Run Eye Goop to extend your stealth duration when grabbing a spike, and Mirror Shards to apply the Broken status after they remove a projectile, completely denying their heals.
The Map Lockdown Build
If you hate losing three generators in the first two minutes, this loadout creates massive dead zones and forces survivors into your waiting machete.
- Corrupt Intervention: Blocks the three furthest generators for two minutes right at the start, funneling survivors directly toward you.
- Hex: Scared to Death: Punishes anyone who drops a pallet by making them scream and slowing them down mid-chase.
- Scourge Hook: Pain Resonance: Hooking someone on a scourge hook violently explodes the generator with the most progress.
- Hex: Ruin: Unrepaired generators automatically regress at 150% speed the second a survivor lets go.
- Required Add-Ons: The Deputy’s Badge causes generators to explode and lose progress simply by walking near them in stealth mode. Pair this with the Iridescent Boat Motor to completely block windows after a Jump Scare.
Slasher Completionist Achievements
For the trophy hunters out there, Jason launched with three new achievements that you can unlock in public matchmaking.
| Achievement | How to Unlock |
| Adept Slasher | Score a merciless victory using only Jason’s three personal teachable perks. |
| Not So Fast | Successfully use your Throwing Spikes to immobilize survivors against flat walls 13 different times. |
| In Pursuit | Down 13 survivors within 30 seconds of shattering a pallet or breakable wall. |
Jason definitely has a slight learning curve, especially when getting a feel for the spike physics and his temporary blindness. Once you lock down his mechanics, though, he easily ranks as one of the most oppressive killers in the current meta. Pick your build, equip your add-ons, and make them regret queuing up.
