Mina the Hollower Guide: Complete Fast Travel Network Breakdown
Unlock the Ossex Train, Mirror Portals, and Poppit Shop Burrows to Navigate Tenebrous Isle Like a Pro

Quick Answer: Save your tiny mouse legs by unlocking all transit options on Tenebrous Isle. You need to fund the Ossex train station with 10,000 Bones, step through five hidden haunted mirrors, and discover three Poppit Shops to activate Grinnsly’s underground shortcut burrows.
Navigating Tenebrous Isle on foot gets exhausting fast. You play as a tiny mouse, and those little legs are not built for sprinting back and forth between dungeons across the entire map. Fortunately, this game offers three distinct ways to teleport around the world. You have a massive locomotive, a creepy network of haunted mirrors, and a set of literal dirt holes dug under a local shop.
Getting all these transit systems operational requires a decent chunk of cash and a keen eye for secrets.
Restoring the Ossex Train Network
When you first arrive in Ossex, the central train is nowhere to be found. The locals fully expect you to pay out of pocket to restore their public infrastructure. To get the locomotive back on the tracks, you must deposit 10,000 Bones into the donation box. This sounds incredibly expensive at first, but do not sweat it. You can make smaller deposits using your Bonestone reserves over time. By the time you actually need the train to reach the snowy peaks late in the game, your wallet will easily cover the bill.
Once the engine is chugging along, you still have to locate the actual stations out in the wild. As a bonus secret, riding the train between Bone Beach and Nox’s Bayou drops you off in a hidden zone known as the Coupling. Inside, a merchant named Vitas sells a highly rare item. You can also unlock a secret cloak hidden behind a door here if you bring some Kears along.
Train Station Locations
| Station Name | How to Find It |
| Bowery Station (Ossex) | This acts as your central hub on the west side of the city. Cross the lava pits near the Occupied Bridge to reach the northern section, enter the Molten Foundry, and take the stairs right to the platform. |
| Swamp Station (Nox’s Bayou) | Head to the eastern edge of the Backwaters into the Shanty Swamp. The platform is surrounded by bugs. |
| Farm Crossing (Septemburg) | You will easily spot this one right outside the entrance to the Kindlewood Schoolhouse. |
| Sandy Station (Sandfalls) | Navigate to the bottom right corner of Sifted Sands and blow up the TNT crates blocking the tracks. |
| Frigid Station (Coltrane Peak) | This sits at the western entrance of the peak. You actually have to ride the train from a different station to unlock this zone initially. |
If you are completely burnt out from grinding Bones to fund public transit, you should take a break by the water. Grab your rod and check out our Mina the Hollower fishing guide to track down every aquatic mutant instead.

Activating the Mirror Portals
While the train covers the overworld, you absolutely need the mirror portals to navigate the Astral Orrery and flip switches vital to the main dungeon progression. The game hides five specific mirrors you must uncover.
The mechanic feels a bit strange at first, but you simply walk straight into the glass to phase into the portal room.
Hidden Mirror Locations
- Queensbury Crypt: Walk into Statue Head Hall. Find the merchant tunnel, look directly across from it, and burrow straight into the wall covered in candles.
- Nox’s Bayou: Head to the Moonlit Path and defeat the Mock Moon enemy. Walk north and follow the NPC directly into the glass pane.
- Septemburg: Find the house in the southwest corner of Crow Town. Wait for the crow to burst through the door, burn the leaf piles, and smash the wooden box to uncover the mirror. Grab the Spark Container while you are here.
- Bone Beach: Search the Stomach Caves located on the Worm’s Back. Look for a tiny tent and burrow right into it to reach the portal.
- Coltrane Peak: Enter the Icebound Cavern. Defeat the Frozen Horror boss, walk north, and take the tunnel on your right.
Opening the Poppit Shop Burrows
Grinnsly offers the quickest way to hop back to the early zones right outside Ossex. You just need to track down all three Poppit Shop locations hidden out in the wild. Finding them permanently opens three convenient dirt holes right in the middle of his shop floor.
Pay attention to the colored tiles in front of each hole. They indicate your exact destination, which prevents you from accidentally diving into a fiery death trap when you just wanted some fresh air.
Burrow Destinations
- Red Cracked Tile & Brown Hole: Drops you into the Western Wilds near the Molten Foundry. Prepare to dodge environmental hazards the second you land.
- Orange Tile & Blue Hole: Sends you to the Southern Outskirts Commons area. This drop zone is perfectly safe.
- Grey Tile & Dark Grey Hole: Teleports you straight to the Eastern Heath Grasslands.
