Wandering around as a vampire with a broken wand is pretty underwhelming. You already know magic exists in the game, especially if you stumbled into Sabrina’s shop early on and spotted all those grimoires up for sale. But without a functioning wand or a mana pool, you are entirely locked out of the arcane arts.

The game does not let you buy your way into magic early. Here is exactly how to fix that broken stick and start slinging spells.

Pushing the Main Campaign

Spellcasting is strictly locked behind your story progression. You cannot bypass this by farming gold or exploring the map. Just keep knocking out your main objectives until you complete “The Dinner Party” event at the Ambrosia Mansion.

Shortly after you unlock your Hellkitten form during that questline, check your mailbox. You are waiting for a specific letter from Luna with the subject line “Come Visit!”. Reading this letter officially kicks off your magical journey. Completing The Magic of Crops Quest

Once you have the letter, head over to Luna’s farm. Walking in triggers a cutscene where she tries to show off her magical crops, but your busted wand immediately halts the process. This adds “The Magic of Crops” to your quest log.

Follow these steps to get your gear in working order:

1. Leave the farm and travel to Sabrina’s store, the Webb of Wonders.
2. Ensure you visit during operating hours so Sabrina is actually at the counter.
3. Speak to Sabrina to have her repair your broken wand.
4. Return to Luna to show off your newly fixed equipment.

Watering the Moonfruit

Luna will reward your efforts by teaching you your very first spell: Aquaflux I. This acts as your basic watering spell.

Cast it directly on her magical crops. You will then hit a brief waiting period while the crops process the spell. Just hang around until you can cast Aquaflux on the Moonfruit for a second time. This prompts the crops to fully grow, wrapping up the questline and triggering a final cutscene with Luna.

Accessing Your Spells and Mana

Finishing the Moonfruit quest permanently unlocks your spellcasting abilities for the rest of your playthrough. Look at the top left corner of your screen, right underneath your energy bar. You will now see your available mana represented by blue star icons.
