Palworld 1.0 Guide: Mass Producing Cryogenic Coolant
Power up your endgame base by mastering Aquatic Pal Fluid and Ice Organ farming

Quick Answer: Reaching level 31 unlocks the Cryogenic Coolant recipe, but you cannot craft it by hand. You must build a powered Production Assembly Line and combine 1x Aquatic Pal Fluid with 1x Ice Organ. The most efficient strategy is assigning Kelpsea to a Ranch for passive fluid generation while buying your Ice Organs from the Duneshelter merchant for 285 Gold each.
Hitting the midgame in Palworld 1.0 brings a harsh reality check. Suddenly, all your advanced machinery and high tier weapons require a massive cooling infrastructure. You cannot simply throw these materials together at a primitive workbench anymore. Upgrading your base requires serious planning, and mastering coolant production is the only way to avoid hitting a total progression wall.
Setting Up Your Factory Floor
Unlocking the recipe is the easy part. It becomes available at level 31 and costs two Technology Points. Getting your base ready to actually manufacture the stuff is where the real work begins.
You absolutely must transition to industrialized crafting. This requires a hefty resource investment upfront. Here is exactly what you need to get your operation running:
- Production Assembly Line: Prepare to spend 100 Ingots. You might also need to push your tech progression slightly to unlock Concrete for a fully optimized setup.
- Power Generator: Your assembly line is useless without juice.
- Dedicated Electric Pal: You need a reliable electric type assigned to the generator to keep your machinery running without interruption.
Once your factory is humming, the actual recipe is incredibly straightforward. Each batch of coolant demands exactly one Aquatic Pal Fluid and one Ice Organ.
Why You Need So Much Coolant
You will not be crafting just a handful of these. Prepare to manufacture hundreds. Surviving extreme climates and dealing top tier damage means your coolant reserves will be constantly draining.
Here is a breakdown of the major items that will eat through your stockpile:
| Category | Essential Craftable Items |
| Base Facilities | Improved Furnace, Electric Heater, Large Scale Stone Oven |
| Firearms | Combat SMG, Overheat Rifle |
| Survival Gear | Cold Resistant Refined Metal Armor |

Sourcing Aquatic Pal Fluids
Because you need an absolute mountain of Pal Fluids, you have to decide between active grinding or passive farming.
Active hunting yields the fastest results. Defeating or catching any Water or Ice type Pal gives you a chance to score fluids. Beginners can easily farm Pengullets and Celarays along the starting beaches. For endgame players, pack plenty of ammo and head north of the Hill of Beginnings to Gobfin’s Turf. This swampy river delta is packed with hostile Water Pals. Gobfins swarm in groups, so bring your strongest team or you will get wiped out fast.
For players who prefer automation, capturing a few Kelpseas is the optimal move. Throw them into a Ranch back at your base, and they will steadily produce fluids while you are out exploring. It takes longer than running through Gobfin’s Turf, but it completely removes the grind.
Acquiring Ice Organs
Ice Organs are slightly more frustrating because you cannot passively farm them in a Ranch.
Early on, stick to hunting Pengullets. Once your level is high enough, travel to the massive frozen island in the far north. The spawn density for Ice Pals is incredible up there, making it the best natural hunting ground in the game.
However, there is a much easier way if your gold reserves are looking healthy. Make the trek out to Duneshelter, located in the northern desert region. Find the Wandering Merchant inside the settlement walls. He sells an unlimited supply of Ice Organs for 285 Gold a pop. He also buys valuable drops, making this the perfect place to dump your boss loot and instantly fund your entire coolant operation.
