Shift at Midnight Guide: Every Achievement, Earning Cash, and Saving Clyde
Maximize your night shift payouts, hunt down every nightmare, and save Sheriff Clyde to 100% your gamerscore.

Quick Answer: Maxing out your gamerscore in Shift at Midnight requires mastering the hunting mechanics, hoarding your spare change, and keeping Sheriff Clyde breathing. Letting the local law enforcement die mid-run completely bricks your chance at unlocking any of the three ending achievements.
Earning the Baseline Achievements
You will naturally knock out a few of these just by playing the game and surviving your shifts. The basic unlocks focus on your first interactions with the violent side of retail.
- First Blood: You get this the exact second you eliminate your first customer. The game does not care if they were a doppelganger or just a regular person buying snacks.
- Still Breathing: Simply survive your first full nightly assault.
- Locked And Loaded: Empty your wallet at the back computer. You need to purchase every single weapon available. You start with the pistol, but you need to buy the brick, baseball bat, sledgehammer, SMGs, shotguns, and flamethrowers to pop this one.
Slaying Specific Nightmares
Whenever a Hunt kicks off, the game throws a mix of horrifying creatures your way. Taking them out rewards you with specific achievements.
If you are struggling to keep your head attached to your shoulders during these chaotic nights, check out our comprehensive monster survival and Dentist breakdown to learn exactly how these creatures operate.
Here is what you need to hunt down:
| Achievement Name | Target Enemy | Strategy |
| Silenced | Shrieking Doll | Keep your distance and shoot these crawling nightmares before they leap. |
| Freed | The Demented | Drop a bear trap on the floor, look away to bait its movement, and let it walk right into the trap. |
| Last Performance | The Marionette | Wait until Shift 9. Let the music box finish winding so the creature attacks, then take it down. |
| Relentless | Any Hunt | Finish an entire Hunt in under 30 seconds. Start a fresh save on Night 1, let a doppelganger through on purpose, and melt the resulting enemies with heavy weapons and traps. |

Maximizing Your Paycheck
Upgrading your arsenal and preparing for the late game requires serious cash. You cannot rely strictly on the register. You need to hustle between ringing up customers.
Here is exactly how much every side task pays out:
| Task Performed | Payout Amount |
| Relocating a live rat to the dumpster | $3.00 |
| Cleaning up a blood or liquid stain | $0.10 |
| Tossing random trash or body parts into the dumpster | $0.10 |
| Squashing a cockroach with the mop | $0.10 (Plus another $0.10 for cleaning the resulting stain) |
| Killing a rat and tossing the remains | $0.10 |
You will also find random tokens scattered around the convenience store. Plug these into the gambling wheel for a chance to win a flat $10 payout. Once you unlock every cosmetic hat in the game, landing on a hat slice will fully refund your token.
The Sheriff Clyde Endings
Your choices during the final hours dictate which of the three endings you receive. All of them revolve around your injured pet and Sheriff Clyde.
- Empty Home: Do not call Clyde for help, and end Shift 13 with less than $250 in your bank account. Your pet does not get the surgery.
- Grave Decision: Call Clyde during Shift 12 and sacrifice him to save your pet.
- True Ending: Do not call Clyde, but make sure you have hoarded at least $250 by the end of Shift 13 to pay for the surgery yourself.
There is one massive trap here. If Sheriff Clyde dies at any random point during your playthrough, all three of these achievements are locked. You literally cannot make the final choices if he is already dead in an aisle somewhere. Protect him at all costs if you are going for 100% completion.
Finally, do not worry about finding a group. Every single achievement on this list is entirely obtainable as a solo player.
