LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight Guide: All Red Brick Locations

Locate All 23 Hidden Red Bricks and Upgrade Your Gotham Wardrobe

Quick Answer: Finding all 23 Red Bricks gives you ultimate control over your character customization by unlocking vibrant color palettes for your alternate suits. You need to hunt down 14 bricks hidden inside specific story mission puzzle rooms, while the remaining nine must be bought directly from Bat-Mite’s rotating shop inventory.

Running around the streets of Gotham in your standard dark grey tactical gear is fun for the first few hours, but eventually, you will want to add some personal flair. Red Bricks serve as the ultimate cosmetic currency in this game. Snagging all 23 of them gives you total aesthetic dominance over your roster’s alternate outfits.

You will not stumble across these collectibles by aimlessly gliding over rooftops. The developers cleverly hid 14 of them inside optional puzzle rooms scattered across the main campaign. The other nine require you to empty your wallet at Bat-Mite’s store.

If you realize you blew past a puzzle room during your initial run, just boot up the Batcomputer and replay the specific mission. If your closet is currently looking a little bare, check out our complete guide on how to unlock every suit in the game to get your collection started.

Mission Red Brick Locations

Prepare to use specific gadgets and character abilities to solve these 14 hidden story puzzles.

Chapters 1 and 2

The early game puzzles are incredibly simple and act as a soft tutorial for hunting collectibles.

  • Ninja (Infiltration): Build the catapult, then grapple around the right exterior of the building to find an open vent. Drop down into the puzzle room, place the scattered books on the pressure plates, and have Bruce and your companion step on the final two plates at the same time to reveal the prize.
  • Nautical (New Beginnings): You will see this brick trapped in a locked room right next to the battering ram. Ignore the locked door completely. Grapple up to the roof and dive through the open window.
  • Filthy Rich (Carmine Falcone): When you break into the Iceberg Lounge office, you need to crack the giant safe. You can hunt down the clues behind the bar, or you can just punch in the code 596 right away to grab your loot.
  • Toxic Waste (The Red Hood Gang): Walk past the massive vat of purple sludge and look for a side room. The brick is wedged tight inside a pipe. Pull out Jim Gordon’s Foam Sprayer, plug up all the yellow leaks, and the pressure will blast the brick right out.
  • Feline (Mimes): Head under the gadget shop to find a maze mini game. You need to guide the cat icon to the exit using the directional pads. Keep away from the orange dog icon, otherwise the puzzle resets.
  • Artist (Flugelheim): Catwoman needs to send her kitty through a flap to hit a security button. Ignore the button entirely. Platform your way above the monitor screen to discover a second, secret cat flap tucked in the top corner that leads straight to the brick.

Chapter 3

Once Robin joins the squad, the puzzles start requiring tighter timing and clever gadget swapping.

  • Gothic (The Penguin): Enter the Arctic World side room and use Catwoman to slice open the glass. Grab the red umbrella inside, set it on the center podium, and whip the nearby switch. This rotates the umbrella to face the caged brick, unlocking the mechanism.
  • Showbiz (Joker): Keep an eye out for a glowing pink window sitting above the second parade float. Send Catwoman inside and push the large television exactly halfway across the floor. Use her Call Kitty gadget, bounce the cat onto the TV, jump to the left vent, and crawl through the tunnel.
  • Clown (Two Face): When you reach the first combat encounter at Haly’s Circus, do absolutely nothing. Attacking the enemies forces you to restart the mission to get the brick. Stand directly on the yellow pressure pad of the carnival strength tester to expose three targets. Throw Robin’s customized Birdarang to hit all three targets at the exact same time.

Late Game Puzzles

The final stretch of the campaign forces you to manipulate environmental hazards to claim your rewards.

  • Power Plant (Kite Man): As soon as you spawn, pry open the back left door with Robin’s staff. Use Robin’s Cable Launcher to wire the center console’s blue battery to the fuse box on the right. Hit the left panel with his staff to slam the main hatch shut. Swap to Batman, ride the air stream up to the ceiling, swap back to Robin to open the hatch, and then quickly swap back to Batman to snatch the brick before gravity kicks in.
  • Flower Power (Poison Ivy): Inside the botanical side room, you have to plug potted plants into the central console in a highly specific order. Drop the Red plant in first, followed immediately by the Green one.
  • Fire Breather (Firefly): Do not bother reading the wall hints inside the museum’s orb room. All you have to do is cycle the planetary light projections until every single one is glowing red. The center orb will pop open and drop your reward.
  • Ice Age (Mr. Freeze): During the climactic boss battle, completely ignore Mr. Freeze. Send Batgirl to pry open the grate shielding the energy switches. Swap over to Nightwing and toss his Electrorang so it tags all three switches simultaneously.
  • Bats (The League of Shadows Returns): When you finally get back down to street level, spot the garbage truck on your left. Charge the truck’s battery using Nightwing, then have Batgirl slice into the controls to drive it forward. Hide behind the truck to block the incoming missiles, which triggers the final mission brick to spawn.

Bat-Mite Shop Red Bricks

You will never find the final nine color palettes floating around the open world. You have to purchase them straight from Bat-Mite.

His inventory operates on a rotating schedule. Every time you enter his shop, a random selection of bricks will spawn on his center pedestal. You need to check back frequently to buy out the entire stock.
