Moonlight Peaks Guide: The Best Gifts for Every Character

The Ultimate Cheat Sheet for Befriending Every Villager in Town

Quick Answer: Handing out surplus farm items like Eggs is the ultimate lazy strategy for early relationship building. To optimize your friendships, check the in-game relationship menu to see if a villager loved (Heart icon), liked (Star icon), tolerated (no icon), or absolutely hated (X icon) your recent offerings.

Getting the locals to like you is a core staple of any cozy farming sim. Moonlight Peaks doesn’t break the mold here, but it does give you a fantastic built-in tool to track your social progress. Instead of blindly guessing or keeping a physical notepad on your desk, the game records your gifting history right in the menus.

Decoding the Relationship Menu

Virtually anything you pick up off the ground can be shoved into a villager’s hands. Whether it is a shiny piece of ore or a random Purple Azalea you snagged in the woods, they will have a reaction to it. Sometimes their spoken dialogue is tricky to read, so you need to check the hard data to see how they actually felt.

Open up your relationship page by clicking the heart icon in your main menu. When you hover over a specific character, you will see a “Previously Gifted” section displaying the last eight items you gave them. Look for these specific markers attached to the item icons:

  • Heart Icon: They absolutely love it. This is a top-tier favorite gift.
  • Star Icon: They like it. A solid, reliable choice that pushes the meter up.
  • No Marker: A neutral reaction. They appreciate the gesture, but it isn’t special.
  • X or Cross Icon: They actively hate it. Do not give them this item again.

If carrying all these random trinkets is completely clogging up your pockets, check out our guide on how to increase your inventory space so you can haul more items around town.

The Ultimate Town Gifting Cheat Sheet

We are still actively tracking down the absolute favorite items for everyone in town, which is why a few of those slots are currently empty. However, sticking to the “Good Gifts” list will get you securely on everyone’s good side without wasting your most valuable resources.

The Lazy Farmer’s Strategy

If you look closely at the charts above, you will notice a massive recurring theme. Almost everyone tolerates or likes Eggs.

When you are just starting out, do not stress about crafting the perfect artisanal meal for every single person. Focus entirely on volume. Once you get your Cheeken farm up and running, you will be drowning in eggs. Instead of cooking them all, just keep a massive stack in your backpack. Hand an egg to literally every person you walk past in town. As long as they don’t explicitly hate it, you are slowly and steadily building up that relationship meter.

Eventually, your farm will evolve. You will have more processing machines and a massive surplus of high-value items like juices, wines, and rare minerals. You can easily transition to giving out those better gifts once your economy is stable.

Also, keep an eye out for the Love Potion. You can start brewing this incredibly powerful relationship booster once you progress far enough in the story for Fiona to repair the old Cauldron your mother gave you.
