Mouse: P.I. For Hire Guide: Hunting Down Every Mouseburg Herald
The ultimate guide to finding all 38 Mouseburg Herald newspapers and unlocking the collector achievement without going broke.

The Mouseburg Herald newspapers are incredibly easy to walk right past. They are sitting in lockers, resting on skeletons, and hiding behind bars you would never normally explore. If you miss too many of them, you are going to face a massive shop bill you cannot afford. Even worse, you will permanently lock yourself out of the collector achievement.
There are 38 total newspapers spread across every single mission. This guide shows you exactly where to find them all without breaking a sweat.
Why You Should Care About The Papers
Each edition of the Mouseburg Herald is a physical collectible scattered around the world. They actually feature unique headlines and short stories that flesh out the gritty city. But let us be real, the main reason you are hunting them is to unlock that sweet completionist achievement.
The game usually hides two to four newspapers per mission. Most of them are tucked away in optional rooms. If you mess up and miss one, the Paper Boy near your P.I. Office sells some editions. However, coins are super rare and you desperately need them for weapon upgrades. Treat the shop as an absolute last resort.
Important note: Newspapers from the final mission are never sold in the shop. If you miss them, they are gone forever.
The Early Game Newspapers
Let us break down the exact locations for the first few missions.
- The Vanishing Act: Small Time Actress Found Dead: After you show Wanda’s ID to the cop, walk into the greenroom and open the locker on the right.
- The Vanishing Act: Race To The Left: Once you finish your weird chat with Betty, grab the paper sitting right on her kitchen counter.
- Gumshoe In The Opera: Dark Clouds Over Shrewthicket: Sitting plainly on a table right as you enter the Opera building. You practically trip over it.
- Gumshoe In The Opera: Mossman or Mossdream: After the Old Rat Stuntman teaches you how to Double Jump, check the chair right next to him. It is super easy to forget this one while you are testing your new moves.
Bandels Laboratory and A Bit Of A Scene
Keep your eyes peeled here, especially in the weird underground lab sections.
- Bandels Laboratory: Smoke Mirrors and Fun: After you clear the goons in the giant octopus tank room, run upstairs. The paper is in the exact same room where you pick up the Devarnisher.
- Bandels Laboratory: The Future Is Now: After you defeat Betty, look for a desk near where Igorrr is hanging out.
- Bandels Laboratory: Dirty Money: Near the end of the mission, you will find a typewriter and a letter. Check the corner trash can before you move on.
- A Bit Of A Scene: The End Of The Crime Families: After the big train track shootout, walk down the stairs and look right. Jump on the trash cans, hop the fence, and grab the paper off the ground.
- A Bit Of A Scene: Worker Strikes In Effect: After bouncing on the trampoline to reach the apartment balcony, climb through the window and look immediately left into the kitchen.

Now back to the news. The Cheeseball Sub mission loves hiding things in the dark.
- Cheeseball Sub: Boy Eats Bad Book: Pick the lock to the right of the subway tracks, head upstairs into the dark flashlight section, and find the office at the far end. Jack makes a funny potion seller reference here.
- Cheeseball Sub: The Burdens Of Blue Betty: In the room with the massive construction hole, go to the far southeast corner. Jump across the crates to reach the unused tracks and find the paper sitting in a small lit area.
- Cheeseball Sub: Read the Leaflets: After the big enemy room and the typewriter, you enter a series of flashlight corridors. In the second room, turn left and grab the paper off a stack of crates.
- Once Upon A Time: Mouseburgs Puddle Scandal: Clear the starting street, pick the lock to the bar, kill everyone inside, and check behind the counter.
- Once Upon A Time: The Haunting of the Wraith: After the outdoor shootout where you drop the piano, head inside and check the bathrooms on the left. The paper is sitting on the lap of a skeleton on the toilet.
