Palworld Guide: How to Farm Meteorite Fragments and Catch Alien Pals
Stop waiting hours for random crash sites. Learn how to fast-farm Meteorite Fragments, catch exclusive alien Pals, and craft the absolute best endgame saddles in the 1.0 update.

Quick Answer: Meteorite Fragments drop from dynamic crash events that trigger every 2.5 to 3 hours by default. To build an endless supply, either adjust your world settings slider to drop meteors every minute, or breed Xenovaders at home and process them with a Pal Disassembly Conveyor. Save your hard-earned fragments exclusively for endgame saddles, as the Meteor Launcher weapon is a complete trap.
Tracking down cosmic materials in Palworld 1.0 can feel like a guessing game if you don’t understand how dynamic events function. Meteorites don’t just supply shiny purple rocks, they drop hostile space-faring Pals and trigger chaotic skirmishes on the ground.
If you want to harvest these fragments efficiently without burning hours staring at the sky, here is everything you need to know about crash site mechanics, breeding pipelines, and crafting priorities.
Locating Meteor Impact Zones
Meteorite Fragment drops are linked directly to the “Falling Meteorite” dynamic event. When an event fires, a bright red banner flashes across your HUD, followed by a compass marker pointing toward the landing site.
Navigating to the crash site requires a bit of map hygiene:
- Icon Confusion: Supply Drops and Meteorite Crashes share the exact same marker on your compass and map.
- Lingering Markers: Because dynamic events fire regardless of where you are standing, uncleared Supply Drops stay pinned to your map indefinitely.
- Clear the Map: Always loot old supply crates and mine old meteorites immediately. Leaving unvisited markers cluttering your screen makes tracking fresh impacts a nightmare.
When you arrive at an active crater, scoop up the loose purple rocks scattered across the dirt first. Then, break out your pickaxe and mine the main meteor shell to snag a guaranteed chunk of 30 or more fragments.
Dealing with Extraterrestrial Crash Sites
You will rarely find a quiet crash site. Local Syndicate Thugs love to swarm impact craters, but they quickly run into an alien threat they cannot handle.
Every meteorite drop spawns dynamic, aggressive extraterrestrial Pals that immediately engage human enemies. The species you encounter depends entirely on the biome where the rock lands.
| Region / Biome | Primary Alien Spawn | Encounter Notes |
| Standard / Early Biomes | Xenovader | Common aggressive alien; easy target for early catching. |
| High-Level Zones | Xenogard | Heavy ground attacker; rare spawn chance in late-game regions. |
| Sakurajima | Selyne | Exclusive, highly sought-after flying Pal. |
If you are severely underpowered and only care about mining the purple rock, let the chaos work in your favor. Hide nearby while the alien Pals obliterate the Syndicate troops. Once the aliens wander off into the wild, step up to the crater and mine the meteor in total peace. If you want to expand your Paldeck, jump into the brawl immediately before the Pals disappear.

How to Fast-Farm Meteorite Fragments
Relying on random world spawns every three hours will stall your late-game crafting progression. Thankfully, you can break this time-gate using two far more effective strategies.
Method 1: The Base Disassembly Line (Automated)
You do not need to rely on cosmic luck to get fragments. Catching a male and female Xenovader allows you to set up a breeding pen at your base.
Hatch the eggs, queue up the offspring, and run them through a Pal Disassembly Conveyor. Xenovaders drop Meteorite Fragments when butchered, converting a random environmental event into a predictable, fully automated base factory.
Method 2: World Settings Override (Manual)
If you prefer hunting meteors in the open world, you can modify the event timer directly from the main menu:
- Exit to the title screen and select your save file.
- Click Change World Settings and navigate to Custom Settings.
- Locate the Meteorite/Supply Drop Interval slider.
- Reduce the timer from the default 180 minutes down to 1 minute.
Warning: If you drop the timer to one minute, you must actively clear the crash sites. Leaving dozens of uncleared meteors and supply drops strewn across the landscape will degrade your game’s performance and potentially cause severe crashes.
What to Craft with Your Fragments
Gathering space rocks is useless if you don’t spend them wisely. Keep in mind that crafting recipes will not appear on your Technology Tree until you actually capture the corresponding Pal first.
Available Meteorite Fragment recipes include:
- Selyne Saddle
- Neptilius Saddle
- Xenogard Saddle
- Xenolord Saddle
- Meteor Launcher
- Meteorite Ammo
- Paldium Fragments
What to Build (and What to Avoid)
Put every single fragment toward alien saddles. Selyne provides unmatched top-tier flight, Neptilius offers exceptional vertical water movement, and both Xenogard and Xenolord function as dominant ground assault mounts. Unlocking these completely changes how you traverse the map.
Skip the Meteor Launcher entirely. Its burst damage falls noticeably short of the standard Rocket Launcher, and its ammunition requires costly cosmic resources rather than cheap, readily available explosive materials. Burning rare space rocks just to clear basic Syndicate outposts is a massive waste of resources. Save your fragments for your mounts instead.
