Phasmophobia Guide: How to Find and Use the Angel Lamp

Banish Shadow Entities and Farm Your Event Points Fast in the New Alan Wake Crossover.

Quick Answer: Grab the Angel Lamp from the starting van on any of the four Alan Wake crossover maps. Track down the creepy whispering sounds to locate shadowy figures, then hold your interaction button to shine the lamp on them. They will explode, netting you +2 event points each. You keep these points even if the primary contract ghost kills you!

Survive the Dark Place Crossover

Phasmophobia just cranked up the tension with its latest Alan Wake collaboration. As if hunting standard poltergeists wasn’t stressful enough, a new threat has invaded a few select locations: shadow ghosts.

Your standard flashlights and smudge sticks are completely useless against these new shadowy figures. To deal with them, you need a very specific tool pulled straight from the Alan Wake universe. The Angel Lamp is your only defense against the shadows, and mastering it is the core loop for farming your limited-time event points.

Where to Find the Angel Lamp

You don’t need to risk your neck searching a haunted basement for this tool. Every time you load into one of the designated event maps, the Angel Lamp will be sitting right inside your starter van alongside your standard equipment loadout. Pick it up just like any other tool.

Keep in mind that the crossover event only transforms specific locations. If you want to use the lamp and farm points, you must boot up one of these exact maps:

Hunting the Shadow Ghosts

Do not treat the Angel Lamp like a fancy flashlight. While it does cast some light, using it just to navigate a dark hallway is a massive waste of its potential. The lamp’s true purpose is to obliterate the shadow entities lurking around the map.

These shadow figures spawn randomly the second you start the match. Since their locations shuffle every single round, you can’t just memorize a static farming route. You actually have to hunt them down.

Step-by-Step Lamp Mechanics

Here is exactly how you track and destroy the shadow entities once you step out of the van:

  1. Crank up your audio headset. The shadows make a very distinct, creepy whispering noise.
  2. Do not confuse these whispers with standard ghost event noises. If you hear the whispers, you are close to a shadow.
  3. Walk toward the sound until you spot a dark, shimmering silhouette.
  4. Aim your crosshair directly at the figure.
  5. Hold down your use button (Right-Click on PC, or the A/X button on your controller).
  6. The lamp will flare up brilliantly, causing the shadow to explode and vanish.

Effortless Event Point Farming

The entire point of melting these shadows is to grind out your event points. Every single shadow ghost you destroy with the Angel Lamp instantly banks +2 Alan Wake Event Points for your account.

The best part about this grind is how forgiving the developers made it. Your selected difficulty setting has zero impact on the points you earn, so there is no reason to sweat on Nightmare mode unless you really want to.

More importantly, your points are entirely safe. If you get the ghost type completely wrong, or if a demon decides to violently end your investigation early, it does not matter. As soon as you return to the lobby, every point you farmed with the Angel Lamp is securely added to your total.
