Deltarune Chapter 5 Guide: Everything To Do At The Festival

Don't miss a single character interaction! Here is your complete checklist for experiencing all 15 unique activities during Hometown's Festival Day before entering the Dark World.

Quick Answer: Take a break from standard RPG combat and enjoy Hometown’s Festival Day before entering the Dark World. You can complete 15 unique activities around town, including riding the Ferris wheel, getting your fortune told, and heavily influencing Susie and Noelle’s incredibly awkward first date.

The Ultimate Third Wheel Experience

Chapter 5 throws a massive curveball right out of the gate. Instead of dropping Kris into a brand new Dark World immediately, you wake up to Festival Day. Hometown is completely transformed, and you get free rein to explore the festivities. The best part? Susie is basically on a date with Noelle, which makes you the designated third wheel for the afternoon.

Complete Hometown Festival Checklist

There are 15 distinct activities scattered across the map. I highly recommend doing all of them just to soak in the incredible character dialogue. Here is exactly where to find every event and what you need to do.

Festival King & QueenUp the road from the caricatureCast your official votes. I strongly suggest voting Susie for King and Noelle for Queen, though Berdly is an option.

Minor Distractions

If you keep poking around the edges of the map, there are two extra bits of flavor text.

  • Inspect the massive teacup near the caricature artist for a quick bit of banter.
  • Try walking back to Kris’s house to hear the group comment on Toriel doing yard work.

Do Your Choices Actually Matter?

You might be tempted to sprint past the dunk tank and skip the snacks altogether. If you just want to get to the action, skipping these events does not seem to break the immediate progression of Chapter 5.

However, this is a Toby Fox game. Every tiny choice usually ripples into something massive later on. The entire festival serves as a foundation for Susie and Noelle’s dynamic. Rigging the Festival King and Queen vote will almost certainly trigger major dialogue changes in Chapters 6 and 7. How to Advance the Story

The game will not force you to leave the festival. Once you finish riding the Ferris wheel and annoying Berdly, you have to manually push the plot forward.

Walk past Asgore’s flower stall and head directly toward the beach. A system prompt will appear on your screen. It asks if you want to keep exploring the festival or head down to the lake to officially end the afternoon. Confirm that you want to hang out by the water, and the game will finally transition you toward the Dark World segment of the chapter.
