Crafting in Outbound is incredibly rewarding, but you cannot get far without mastering the basics. Out of all the materials you will gather on your road trip, Everwood Planks are arguably the most crucial. They are required for a massive chunk of the game’s recipes and base-building blueprints.

You will not find these planks just lying around in the wild, though. To get them, you need to process raw wood using a Sawmill. Here is a complete breakdown of where to find the blueprint and how to get your lumber production up and running.

Tracking Down the Sawmill Blueprint

Before you can start cutting wood, you need the schematic. Finding it is entirely tied to exploration. Grab your gear and hike over to the forecast tower located just southeast of the Fire Lookout Tower.

Once you reach the top, you will need a Download Voucher. Exchange your voucher at the terminal to secure the Sawmill recipe and permanently add it to your camper van’s crafting database.

How to Construct Your Sawmill

To construct the Sawmill, you need to gather the following resources:

Setting Up Inside Your Camper Van

You cannot just drop the Sawmill directly onto the floor of your RV. It requires a dedicated workspace.

• First, park your van and fully set up your camp.
• Next, build and place a standard counter inside your vehicle.
• Open your Build Mode menu and navigate to the Workstations category.
• Select the Material Processing tab to find your Sawmill.
• Snap the Sawmill directly onto your newly built counter.

Processing Raw Wood into Everwood Planks

Now that your workstation is fully operational, it is time to start generating materials.

The Sawmill operates on a very simple conversion rate: 2 pieces of raw Everwood will yield exactly 1 Everwood Plank.

Here is exactly how to operate the machine:

1. Open the Sawmill interface and locate the Input tab.
2. Deposit your stack of raw Everwood into the input slot.
3. Look for the power toggle, which defaults to ‘Off’, and switch the machine on.
4. Wait for the processing to finish, then collect your freshly cut planks from the Output tab.
